COLAS
Newcastle Sheds & More supplies Ranbuild’s Schoolmaster COLA structures, designed to provide solid, long-lasting shade and weather protection for schools, playgrounds and community spaces. Unlike fabric covers, these steel structures offer full UV protection and reliable shelter from sun and rain.
COLAs are available in a wide range of sizes—from small lunch areas to large-span playground or sports court coverage. All structural members are manufactured from high-quality galvanised steel and fixed with high-tensile 8.8 bolts for strength and stability. Sub-frame members are bolted between the main frames to prevent twisting and distortion under wind load.
Safety is a major design consideration. Ranbuild removes low-level diagonal bracing and instead uses high, out-of-reach lateral bracing. Columns also feature folded-edge flashings to reduce exposure to sharp edges.
For additional weather protection, you can add curtain walls or gable infills—ideal for high structures built over courts or open play areas.
